Barra asked me if I can think of a quick'n dirty temporary logo for PARPG, so I found a dirty-looking font and quickly made a kind of logo. The font is good, so at least one of the logos might be a good temporary solution. Smiley Comments welcome!

svg file

Public Domain Dedication-licensed. (Meaning you can do what you want with it Cheesy )

Thanks a ton! I like the bottom right version best; just installing inkscape so I can render it in a bigger resolution.

EDIT: I've added your logo to wiki and forums. Looks good to me.

Not bad!

Good idea to make it transparent, it's nice to see the dirty background through the white/transparent letters.

For documentation:

Tranberry modified the logo to this awesomeness (click the SVG link to see/dl) and is now working on a favicon (for the browser, left of the URL/web address)

Also please note that in case you have problems with 'I release this to the public domain' note that the Creative Commons Public Domain Dedication is kind of a license, which is very similar to public domain status. Read it, it should calm you down. (In case you're not calm anyways ^^)

mvBarracude, I think something is wrong with the logos. Make sure you don't "index" the color space or save as gif-files (unless there is a filled background behind the logo), because this way the semi-transparent pixels will loose their opacity value (and become 1 or 0)

I also don't like the logo being differently-colored for the different sites. I would prefer black everywhere. Matter of taste and getting used to though. No pressure here. Yes I know it kind of was my idea. ^^

Yep, think that the old black only logo worked better indeed. I can look into it tomorrow but in case you wouldn't mind giving it a shot either, I can set up an ftp account for parpg for you.

EDIT: done.

I was looking at http://www.unknown-horizons.org/site/ and if you look at it right now,
it looks quite neat. They dont really seem to have a logo per se, but I am especially
talking about the image on top (top left).

Now, if you go and compare this to http://blog.parpg.net/ we do have probably
enough useful links and a somewhat basic style to use (and a logo), but I think
in the long run it might be nice to enhance our website.

I think a somewhat easy start would be to add a few images, perhaps something
that is more or less specific to PARPG. In Fallout, you usually had this radioactive
symbol... Have a look at the fallout wiki vault, it also has some cute little images
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_Wiki

Could we get a nice image like Unknown Horizons has, but fitting to PARPG?
I especially like the ship to the left and the banner with the title. Not sure
what would be fitting to PARPG, perhaps something fitting to ice  Actually
we could use that snowman for now in perhaps a smaller version, perhaps 25%
of the current size:

PS: I just realized that it seems they have a "Media" link since a long time. Glad
to see we have a "Media" link as well now, even though we should fill it up. Smiley

Hmm. How about a variation to the logo?

The P and A in the beginning could be larger ...

... and the theme could be a bit icy ...

Shall I try to cut it out of a piece of birch bark? I don't have any fur at home, and cutting that precise things in sheet metal is out of my range, but those valid ideas as well... Maybe typography - like a collage of different "post-apo" materials would work?

urgh. No collage, thanks.

I can get my hands on metal easily, but I think wood would look nicer.
