I like the skin/style very much, however the black-white contrast bites my eyes a bit the same way it did with one of the first Free Gamer styles.

You can see some mockups with different gray tones and one brown-colored (which I don't like at all) here.

A dark gray might be better and I would do the changes to the skin; just say if you like it changed, to which gray tone and tell me where I can get the skin files Smiley

Nice work! Your help in this field is really appreciated. I personally like the bottom left version best. You can download the current version of the theme here:

Hint: the border graphics reside in izlerlght/images/img/.

Here is the modified skin. I also created two alternative "new posts" icons. If you want to use one of them, you will have to rename it to new.gif (in the images/english/ folder).

My changes are Public Domain Dedication-licensed. (Meaning you can do what you want with them)

Fixed the background: http://qubodup.googlepages.com/izlerlght_q0.2.7z (also fixed that hovering the navigation links will make the ones on their right jump, hopefully)

This time the navigation jumps should be fixed: http://qubodup.googlepages.com/izlerlght_q0.3.7z

I'm trapped in the trap of look-tuning :|

I desaturated some gif images used on the forum, thinking it might look better. Not sure though. Maybe at least some of them are ok.

You left out the file icon, but perhaps that's even a good idea Smiley (the blue one looks pretty good)

I created some replacement for the "forum contains (no) non-read threads" icons

As always: public domain/do what you want etc etc Smiley

When clicking on the "logged" link that each post has in the bottom right corner, a new window opens. This window has a dark grey background and black text, so the text is hard to read (unless you highlight it).

Hmm when I'm logged in and click on the logged link, it brings up the IP address feature and everything seems fine visually there (you can only see this feature if you got admin rights). When I'm logged out, I can't click on the link at all. Could you make a screenshot of the problem Lamoot?

I see it to - I think it doesn't matter though.

The thing that bugs me about the forum skin (which otherwise is pretty cool) is the lack of any kind of indication for links until you mouse over them.

If you are going to take away the underline, you at least have to make the link a noticeably different color, otherwise it is a pain to try to find them, especially when you don't know for sure that they are there.

I made some changes to the forum skin CSS to make the links visible and make quotes visibly nest and be a less clashing color.

IMHO the links really need color to be properly visible, but the use of color for quotes is sorta a judgement call.  Dull tan is certainly more congruent with the rest of the skin that the blue was, but i would understand if someone thought it needed to be grey.

icelus pointed out that there was still confusion when nested quotes had more than 2 parts, so i clarified it with boxes, and better spacing:

the css is here
