.wav would be best, the best quality you can get. And thanks, in advance; I keep missing you on MSN and in the chat room (my internet's being really weird, here, so it's my fault for sure).

WAV? Yikes; that's a 40MB file we're talking...

FLAC would totally be an option if it were native to the programs we're using. Unfortunately, it's not, so we'd have to use a second program to convert them to FLAC on his side, and a third program to convert back to WAV on my side. I know WAV and FLAC are both lossless, but I don't believe conversion is lossless in the best situation.

I don't understand Dave. I have a LOT of flac files (maybe 400GB) and the main reason is that they can be converted back to original WAV easily and accurately.

Conversion from FLAC to PCM WAV and vice versa is lossless indeed. We can't use FLAC-encoded files as ingame sounds / music at the moment as the codec is not supported by FIFE. It offers no real advantage on the other side though: ogg vorbis at 192kb/s is basically transparent = "lossless" to normal human ears (if you use a decent encoder implementation such as the latest AoTuV).
But we should store lossless version of all music / sound effects at the assets repository in case the need to edit these files later arises. For this purpose FLAC sounds like a good option.

Dave, I know you have other things to worry about right now, but I'm just curious on the status of this "remix." I'm looking forward to hearing it.

Unfortunately, it took a backburner to other music projects with earlier deadlines, which then took a backburner to ANOTHER project (which has been backburnered by my lack of sleep and motivation...)...
I feel pretty bad about it all, to be honest.

No problem Dave, in the end you have to do what pays the bills. Keep us updated about the progress please.
