After having seen the reindeer of Sirren I thought of using reindeers as caravans. (they basically replace mules)
So I was thinking: what the heck! and made a litlle panorama of what the world MIGHT look like.

You can see a man and his 'bagage-reindeer' travelling towards Stockholm. In the background we can observe rest overs from WWIII

I dig it, and I can see your reindeer-as-pack-animals plan fleshing out well.

You know, seeing this and seeing your Elephant Man Merchant makes me wonder how good you'd do at developing landscape.  I know the Baldur's Gate fully-painted maps (minus things that you could walk behind like trees and buildings) idea has been somewhat shelved because of the amount of effort it would take to develop the maps, but I think that you could make it happen.

I'm only bringing this up, again, because I know "visually impressive" is something that has been mentioned as a desire for this game.

*Well I wont lie, this elephantman thing was a piece of cake and it didn't required any artistic talents, its called: Zbrush.
A handy 3D/2.5D program that let you easly add relief and detail to 3d models (and you have to keep in mind that the base facemodel is standard in Zbrush so I could directly add  the veins, flesh wounds and the swells). After the simple process I just gave it a bit of photoshop to flush out the flaws and as a finishing touch I added some colours and a shirt. (all this in about 45 minutes I believe)
I give all credits to Zbrush Smiley

Thank you for the motivating compliments! Wink

Althougt im not that skilled with drawing i think that the world should have more of an post-apocalyptic-horror freeling,
since most of the people are dead and the past twenty or so years has been snowing burying everything under it the
world could be mostly empty and dead. Only spots of light in the darkness would be where raiders and other human
groups live their life in some abandonned houses or similar, or even whole towns that have been cleared out of most of the snow to
make them liveable

I like the first one, in the daylight. That's almost start-screen good!

Looks nice, there could even be a larger "town" or a group of people living under the protection of a such minimalistic entrance,
passways made to the snow or even rooms made under the cargoboxes would be possible.

Some construction yard sosial guarders have even insulated walls and such that could keep some of the cold out and could be a good place
to live.

They are often put like that, but rarely in such scale and style.

And theres often separate cargoboxes for the tools and such, maby a good loot?
(chainsaws, axes, sledgehammers, nailguns, maby high explosives?)

Testing all kind of techniques lately. This one is drawn with markers.

question: I realise the characters details drawn here consist of few to none. Still since the actual ingame graphics are rather low resolution, do I need to add more details to characters or is this sufficient?

(Yeah I know, don't worry I'm not serious about the jousting skier Smiley )

aw, I like the jousting skier, would be a tough opponent Tongue

seriously, not really, the size of the characters doesnt require more details (little things), just more detail in the silhouette, thats what most people will notice with the characters so small.
