You can do anything with your story - it's yours. The setting alone is not a part of the project from the licensing point of view, but some parts of it (like names) may be. If you're afraid of being sued for using your own outline - if you're the copyright holder, the only way you could be sued is by yourself.

Writing is not going forward at all, there are like three of us doing anything on a regular basis here.

Hey Q_x. Thanks. I'm not afraid of being sued, I just want to acknowledge that this project had an influence on me, I suppose. I'll make sure to update this thread if the story ever gets published.

Maybe, just don't look at me too closely and maybe some work will get done Wink. I'll have to talk to beliar then! I'll be on IRC after today hopefully (last midterm!).

A.. a programmer? Must be a mirage. The place to look is on anything with beliar's name on it. Try IRC, he may well be on. He's the man to talk to.

Hey there, thought I'd introduce myself since I threw up an opinion on the forums yesterday.
I'm interested in helping out with programming the project, currently have a lot on my plate in regards to class/work/freelance, but as soon as the class bit slacks off in the next week or so I was planning on getting my hands dirty.

I'm a computer science student in Montana, currently with no experience with game programming, but I know and use Python as my main language at work as well as programming experience from previous jobs and classes and such.

Getting experience with working on a game is top priority for me, and this project seems like as good as any to lend my skills to. Idea sounds really interesting, and you seem to have a decent community just itching to make content, with a major need for a framework, which encourages me to help build that framework.

Any questions, let me know, I'm hoping to get started within the next week or two after I finish up midterms and a freelance web design project I've got going.

Hey sorry if this is out of place since I haven't introduced myself before, but I'm interested in helping out with this project as soon as midterms are finished up (computer science). Just thought I'd throw in a hearty +1 for both github and having some sort of centralized discussion/current state, going through the wiki has gotten a bit confusing as to where the project is at the moment.

Refocusing seems like a great thing from my glance of the project, a more direct current goal and such would certainly help get things moving and/or wrapped up. Seems like you guys actually have decent amount of people working on this compared to other projects like this that I've looked into, just need to get focused enough to be achieving little things that keep the momentum going.

Just my two cents as someone who is completely ignorant of whats actually going on Wink

Me again Smiley

I have to seriously change how things are rolling in my private life. I have to find a better/another part-time job (you can always help me with this), get myself a bit more on track, more than it was before. To do that properly, I have to take care for my portfolio (and health in general). To do this - again - I have to free my head from most of online stuff and let myself focus a bit more on what's important.

I'll be back, hopefully somewhere around October/November, to help moving things elsewhere and restructure/reorganize the project. I won't be here during the release (but I'll be looking from time to time Wink

Finally - if you have any particular task for me to do - just mail/PM me, I'll prolly have some time free anyway.

Cheers,
Ł

* Poke my head in* I'm not one of them, unfortunately. Haven't done any writing since Willis went.

Hi!
I've promised to share this idea, so here it goes:
How about world leaders experimenting with some strange weapon of mass destruction, and finally using it during WW III?

I mean this could be anything: weather manipulation, gravitation manipulation, starting volcanoes and earthquakes.
This could leave some strange artifacts active through centuries - places with extraordinary weather, places where gravity is turned upside down, or where dust collects in the air, hot springs or deep, endless tunnels.

What's better, there could exist a piece of working machinery that can be turned off.

Yo. Koobie here. Please ignore my previous post, I was young and full of hubris.

How's the writing thing going?

ANYWAY, just re-registered because I figured I have a pretty good story there and wanted to ask you guys if you'll be fine with me writing an actual short story of about 5,000 - 7,000 words using the outline I've posted in Post 1.

TBH, I don't think I'm legally obliged to ask for your permission as the ONLY thing my story will share with what you have so far in your project is the setting (post apocalyptic nuclear winter Scandinavia, and I don't think you can really copyright that), but I thought it would be the right thing to ask first...
