Hi Edwin! Good to have you around. We could definitely use an experienced programmer like yourself on the project.

Wow, I'll have to check out some of those utilities. They look useful Smiley

Greetings zenbitz!

I've just recently joined PARPG as a Python programmer working on rewriting the dialogue engine. I've read some of the stuff you've written (game mechanics and storyline) and it has simply blown me away. I am very excited to see that you're back on the project and look forward to working with you!

Good to see a fellow Californian as well Smiley

Hope to see you on IRC soon.

Welcome Iggy!

Its good to hear that your interested in the project. PARPG is very active, so expect to see some new stuff in the near future!

There are lots of things to do that don't necessarily involve Python programming, including 3d modeling, 2d art, dialogue/quest/level design etc. Check out the wiki (http://wiki.parpg.net/) to get an idea of what PARPG is and how we're building it.

Also, feel free to stop by our IRC channel (http://irc.parpg.net) if you have questions or just want to chat about the game.

Hi Gabriel! Welcome to PARPG Smiley

As others have stated there is plenty to do even for non-programmers and we always welcome the support. If you have questions or just want to chat, do join us on IRC (http://irc.parpg.net) - most of us are located in Western Europe but the channel is rarely empty for more than a few hours at a time, and I think you'll find that we're a pretty friendly bunch.

My name is George Hansen (AKA George_ in the IRC chat yesterday). I thought I'd just introduce myself briefly to the PARPG community since we'll likely be working together in the near future Smiley

I'm a self-taught programmer of several years and a recent college graduate in the Western United States. I've worked on dozens of half-baked solo projects over the past few years, including a built-from-scratch component-based game engine and most recently a terrain generation and vegetation population engine. I'm primarily a hacker, and I have a good deal of experience working in numerous object-oriented programming languages including C++, Java, Perl, PHP, and Python. All of my scratch-built projects have been written in Python, and I am definitely most comfortable and experienced with Python programming.

I've always wanted to help develop a game from the ground up, and I'm also a big fan of PnP-type isometric games like Baldur's Gate. So when I saw that PARPG needed a Python programmer everything just seemed to click Grin

I'm looking forward to working with all of you! I'll definitely be around on the IRC channel if you want to chat, though due to the time difference I'll likely be on in the early to late evening for most folks in Western Europe. I'll keep my eye on the forums as well for asynchronous communication.
