1  General Category / General Discussion / How is parpg doing? on: March 06, 2011, 06:57:53 PM
Hello, again! I've been away for a while doing a job and some school. Last I checked the project managers all had to leave the project for some reason. How is parpg doing so far right now?

I'm still trying to do some drawings and stuff, but I don't have any Internet hooked up right now (I'm doing this on an iPod with someones wifi) and I'm trying to find a way. To upload 'em on here.

Anyway, just thought I would post so no would think I abandoned the project, even though I can't check here as often.

hey thanks for the input. yeah, i gotta practice more on anatomy. i just noticed how long his torso is :\

i've been doing some practice with lighting like gaspard mentioned. that and trying to define facial features without using hard lines

doesn't look very good yet, but eh...

i watched a tutorial video from CGworkshop and surprisingly learned a lot from a single video.

any thoughts/input? surely there's room for improvement

i dig the changes you made!  are you going to revamp all the portraits?

they handled the whole survival part pretty well. but i agree the ending wasn't all that great.

my GOD that cannibal part was creepy...

oooh, I really like this idea. it worked very well in VBM, and was very interesting

sorry I didn't make it, I haven't checked the site for a while and got back from some family trip.

I'm still around for concept artist... not as important as a programmer or anything, but eh...

The advanced programming class she teaches actually has a session where they learn to use a program called "game maker" and the students actually make a small game.

I took the class last year and played some of their creations and was pretty impressed with what they managed to do, compared to my rip-off of breakout :S

Some students really get into it, but I don't know if that actually counts as "experienced"...

I could try to ask my programming teacher that I had last year if she'd be willing to advertise PARPG to her students...

But I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea if a bunch of random students from school said, "Hey yeah I'll totally do this" and then never post again.

What do you think? I thought it may be a good idea, and while I'm still in high school, it's a good opportunity to take advantage of I suppose.

haha, no i really appreciate your advice!

i have been doing the transparent brush strokes with different colors, but i guess a tapered camel brush was just a bad tool to use...

i'll paint over it with another tool

unsure if you're still looking for WW3 images, but no hurt in posting it anyway.

already started outlining it for painting

well, i put on more shading, but this is honestly the best i can do. without any kind of past experience or training, i am just learning as i go.

even with some online tutorials i look at, they are mostly based on intermediate artists and not beginners. feels like i am trying to run before i learn how to walk.

but hey, your guy's advice and tips defiantly made this look better than it did. not that it's any mona lisa right now, anyways.

edit: i think my main problem was i wasn't using the airbrush tool. great time to just realize corel had one...

how's this? i stopped here because i wasn't sure if i should continue shading or not.

i kinda messed up the eye, so she still looks kinda hopeless, but let's just say she's giving a fake "puppy dog" look for now...
