Title: Restructured repositories
Post by: Beliar on January 12, 2012, 07:29:48 PM
I just restructured the repositories. The changes are as follows:

Added parpg-source repository (http://hg.assembla.com/parpg-source) that only contains the source files of parpg.
Added parpg-app repository (http://hg.assembla.com/parpg-app) that contains the source files, the data files and files to make parpg runable.
Removed the src directory from parpg-core and added a subrepository which links to parpg-source in the parpg subdirectory.
Removed the data directory from parpg-core as it is not needed anymore there.

This means the following:

The parpg-core repository, which was the main repository to checkout before, will be a development repository. This means that the main development work, on the source code, should take place there as it contains additional files such as the unit tests.

The parpg-app repository will be the main repository to checkout a runable version of parpg.

Hi,

Could you guide me a bit here?

I've read the wiki pages on how to download parpg but I'm a bit confused. If I want to code and compile/test the project what repos do I really need? And if the app repo has everything shouldn't I just use that?

I would just follow the wiki instructions but I would like to understand how the repo/code is structured and how you use it.

Regards,

Knitter

Generally you probably want to clone the app repo.

Added parpg-source repository (http://hg.assembla.com/parpg-source) that only contains the source files of parpg.
The parpg-core repository, which was the main repository to checkout before, will be a development repository...

Is parpg-source the dev one or is there another parpg-core outside of this restructuring?

Thanks,

There is a parpg-core repository, i just kinda forgot what it was meant for and set its status to archived some days ago.

It contains the source, the tools and unit-tests, but not the data.

I just change the state of parpg-app to archived as the svn subrepository is causing to many troubles.

I moved the parpg.py and settings-dist.xml files to the bin directory of the parpg-core repository.

This change means that the main repository to clone is again parpg-core and that you have to checkout the data files manually and set the path to them in the settings.xml.
