Title: Hello new sprint! Content Creation Refactoring
Post by: Q_x on May 23, 2011, 10:33:29 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new sprint has begun.

For all those who were not at the meeting and want to actively develop the game for a couple of weeks (have time and energy needed to tackle any major task):
register in assembla.com
look for parpg there, try to announce yourself somehow to parpg-core and parpg-assets - by watching, mailing, whatever. Someone will add you. https://parpg.assembla.com/ might be a good starting point.
Check out tickets there: https://parpg.assembla.com/spaces/parpg-core/tickets and provide feedback.
Also, as an active PARPG developer, I would like to propose writing some user stories for non-programming part of the team. This will help in getting an overview in what we feel that could be needed.
Use assembla's message tools, or try to catch up on the regular Sunday meeting.

*facepalm*

I spent yesterday doing nothing and having headaches. I looked at my empty calendar multiple times.
/me puts parpg meetings on the calendar

EDIT: oh wait, it's empty.. http://static.opengameart.org/logs/parpg-sprint/%23parpg-sprint.2011-05-22.log

Well, qubodup, the meeting took place on official channel. It was a bit different than the meetings used to be - no agenda, no reminders, but in the same time people knew what they wanted, so it was quite productive.

When to expect an announcement?

Qubodup, honestly, stop waiting, get into assembla, as this is, and hopefully will be, our collaboration platform. This is the first step, second is to actually download the code, which is not straightforward, nor documented (yet), even if there is not much sense in running it, and check out collaboration tools available. Finally, I think it would be good to get hands dirty with QML-able GUI prototyping app, I dunno what is available. So this is all even before non-coding persons start setting goals for the sprint.

I won't be able to help with creating new tasks I'm afraid, so it won't participate in this sprint.

Please make a blog post announcement though.
